What is Callify?
Callify gives your Shopify store a real phone line — a number customers can call and text — without you buying a second phone or handing out your personal number.
You install it from the Shopify App Store, pick a number, and tell Callify which phone should ring. Everything after that happens inside your Shopify admin, alongside your orders and customers.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”A toll-free number of your own. Free for customers in the US and Canada to call, and it works nationwide. Customers see this number — never your personal one.
Calls that ring your actual phone. Callify doesn’t ask you to sit by a desk phone or keep an app open. A call to your store number rings whatever handset you nominated: your mobile, a landline, a call centre line.
Voicemail that you can read. When you can’t pick up, callers leave a message. Callify writes out what they said, so you can skim your voicemail inbox the way you’d skim email.
Two-way texting. Customers can text your store number, and you reply from a thread in your admin. It looks like any messaging app.
Business hours. Your line follows a schedule. Inside your opening hours, calls ring you. Outside them, callers hear your greeting and leave a message instead of ringing an empty shop at 3am.
A record of everything. Every call, message and voicemail is logged, with who called, where from, how long it lasted, and — if you have recording turned on — the audio and a written transcript.
Shopify context. When a caller or texter matches a customer in your store, Callify shows you who they are and what they’ve ordered, right next to the conversation.
What it doesn’t do
Section titled “What it doesn’t do”It’s worth being clear about the edges:
- It isn’t a dialler. Callify handles calls to your store number. You place outbound calls from your own phone as you always have.
- It doesn’t replace your phone. It routes to your phone. If your handset is off or out of signal, the call goes to voicemail.
- It’s US and Canada only for now, for both your store number and the phone you forward to.
The words you’ll see
Section titled “The words you’ll see”You’ll meet a handful of terms in the app. These four cover most of it — the glossary has the rest.
Your Callify number — the toll-free number customers call and text. This is the one you put on your website and packing slips.
Your forwarding number — the phone that actually rings when someone calls your Callify number. Usually your mobile. Customers never see it.
Business hours — the weekly schedule that decides whether a call rings your phone or goes to voicemail.
Overage — usage beyond what your monthly plan includes, charged by the minute or by the message. Your spending cap limits how much of it you can be billed in one period.
Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”If you’ve just installed Callify, start with setting up your phone number.
If your number is already live and you want to understand why a particular call rang (or didn’t), read how a call reaches you — it’s the single most useful page here.
